A Little about Me

I went to Austria, met loads of lovely people and lots of lovely natural buildery things and it woke me up. After years of being a slave to convention I found something that really excites me and will spend every moment I can trying to recreate that feeling!

My Build Projects

On a beautiful half acre of land; some landscaped but needing an overhaul and some disused space that we hope to erect some yurts on, on the outskirts of a small village in rural France. The existing structure was built by a previous owner but...

Why I Build Sustainably

Building in itself I find incredibly satisfying. Seeing something go from a patch of unloved space or tumble-down stone to a fully realised structure is a glorious thing. But being able to do that in a way that is respectful of our surroundings and building as part of an environment instead of on top of one brings with it a quiet sense of gratification and delight.

Skills I would like to Work on or Share.

Basket weaving! Yurt building, cob building, dry stone walling, lime plastering, recycled material use, preserving food, straw bale building, sustainable conversion of old buildings, traditional medicine.

My Eating Habits

Omnivore
I love cooking, having a Jamaican background means that jerk chicken and plaintain are a standard but am in love with food and experimenting. Recently attempted ratatouille for the first time with surprisingly tasty results!
